    Boston experiences four distinct seasons over the course of a year, making it a perfect vacation destination for nearly any activity. Let’s take a look at Boston by season and recommend some fun activities.

    Spring

    cherry blossomsAfter a typically uncomfortable winter, Bostonians are eager to head outside and embrace the longer days and warmer nights. You’ll find many people out on the Boston Common and Public Gardens taking a stroll among the cherry blossoms, or you will find baseball fans lining up for the start of the season at Fenway Park. The nearby Back Bay Fens is a great escape to enjoy the outdoors, where you can view the varied fauna and flora that inhabit the park’s Emerald Necklace Conservatory.

     

    Summer

Catch the dragon boats in the Charles River, which you can view from the bridge or while strolling along the Charles River Esplanade. And while there, try out a kayak and/or paddle boat rental to enjoy the water - the perfect antidote to the sun and heat! If you really want to experience the water, the summer is the perfect time to go on a family-friendly bout tour, like Codzilla (a speedboat) or Boston Duck Tours (an amphibious WWII-era vessel).

    Fall

    Fall Foliage TourThere are a few cities that experience a mild autumn and the lush colors that New England is famous for. Considering going on the Fall Foliage Tour, which takes you on an 8-hour adventure through Boston and other nearby foliage hotspots. Or go on the PhotoWalks Tours, which takes you along iconic sites in Boston that are perfect for a photo op.

    Colleges are also in full swing, so you can enjoy the youthful atmosphere and playful antics of fraternity/sorority rushes. Be sure to visit nearby Cambridge to walk through Harvard’s iconic campus or dine in some exotic restaurants.

    Winter

    the Prudential Center MarketIf you’re a fan of cold weather activities or indoor events, Boston has a lot to offer. If you’re a foodie, be sure to explore many of the city’s indoor markets, such as Somerville’s Bow Market, the Prudential Center Market, or Faneuil Market’s Quincy

    For those that want to strap on some ice skates, Boston Common Frog Pond is a popular destination during the colder months. Or if you want to see some hockey, check out the Bruins at TD Garden or university-level hockey at Frozen Fenway.
