Bonita Beach Dog Park (also known as Dog Beach), is a perfect starting point for you and Fido. Bonita Beach Dog Park is in Lee County Florida and is designated by the local government as pet-friendly. Not only are you allowed to bring your dog to Bonita Beach, but you are practically encouraged to! Due to a generous donor, there are doggy showers to wash off your pup after a long day in the sand. Additionally, parking is available and free, and you can fish offshore with a Florida fishing license.

Gulfside Beach (also known as Algiers Beach due to a famed steamship called the Algiers that supposedly washed ashore there many years ago) is another great place to take your pup. Gulfside Beach is located on Algiers Lane in Sanibel and is also designated as being pet-friendly. This is a great place to come with the family for a picnic as there are picnic tables in the shaded area surrounding the beach. Additionally, there is easy access to the beach with a sturdy boardwalk.

Finally, Bowman’s beach is a perfect option for a sunny, fun day with your dog. Bowman’s beach is probably the most popular beach in the Sanibel area because it is not only picturesque but also stacked with great amenities. Bowman’s beach is located on Bowman’s Beach Road in Sanibel and is known for some of the best shelling around. Beach-goers can walk for several miles on rather untouched white sand, playing with their pup or just collecting nice shells along the way. Although there is a $5 parking fee per hour, and a small hike from the parking area to the actual beach, Bowman’s is definitely worth the trip.
