Try wine pairings from an extensive selection with a cheese plate, including such offerings as a Valdeon Blue, the tangy Wisconsin Goat Gouda, sweet/nutty San Geronimo Raclette, and the funky Greybarn Prufrock. Entrees include the unforgettable Pan Roasted Striped Bass, a coconut-lime emulsion served with lobster-grilled scallion risotto, MVM shiitakes, and North Tabor bok choi & cilantro salad. Prices run on the high-end, but you’ll be hard-pressed to find better quality on the island. Outdoor seating is available to enjoy this seasonal favorite, which opens its doors in May.

    Mikado’s Asian Bistro serves an extensive array of sushi and other Asian-themed delicacies, which is a departure from many of the island’s New England specialties. Try the Martha’s Vineyard Roll, a tuna, salmon, yellowtail, avocado, scallion, tobiko roll served between paper-thin cucumber and served with a savory miso sauce. Also, Be sure to stop by on Saturdays when live jazz takes place at night, a rarity in Vineyard Haven’s usual early-closing hours.
