Wondering what the best time to visit Scottsdale is? We will take a look at how each season stacks up in Scottsdale by weighing the pros and cons. Let’s begin!

    Winter

Best time to visit ScottsdalePros: Temperatures range from the low 40s to high 60s, with clear skies perfect for hiking (not quite warm enough for jumping in the pool). Not as many visitors as in the spring high-season and many activities won’t be crowded.

Cons: Snowbirds tend to drive hotel and accommodation prices up, especially for the Fiesta Bowl after Christmas and the Waste Management Phoenix Open. Some businesses will not be operational until late Winter, such as ATV tours.

    Spring

Best time to visit ScottsdalePros: Late March to June are the best months hands-down to visit Scottsdale. Temperatures range from the mid 50s to mid 80s as the perfect setting for many of the area’s attractions, such as:

    • - Baseball spring training
    • - M3F Music Festival
    • - Phoenix Pride Festival
    • - Nirvana Food and Wine Festival
    • - Scottsdale Culinary Festival
    • - NASCAR FanSheild 500 Race

Cons: Expect hotel prices to jump depending on the aforementioned events. Shopping and dining will be busier, so make reservations when applicable.

    Summer

Best time to visit ScottsdalePros: Hotel prices are incredibly cheap, as are any tourist-oriented businesses. Expect discounts and enjoy the dry heat poolside.

Cons: This is the worst time of year to visit, with high temperatures soaring above 110 degrees. Even airports can experience cancellations/delays from overheating runways, which can strand travelers. Late summer is Monsoon season, which can cause heavy rainfall and make certain trails and roadways inaccessible.

    Fall

Best time to visit ScottsdalePros: Same temperatures as spring, with October and early November being perfect times for hiking, lounging by the pool, and patio dining. Because there are less events than spring, hotel prices are inexpensive. With kids going back to school, most activities are less crowded.

Cons: Not too many events are planned in fall for Scottsdale. September can still see high temperatures in the high 90s and even low 100s.
