While the weather in Tampa is usually sunny, it does rain every now and then. Don’t let the turn in weather ruin your vacation. We’ve broken down our favorite indoor activities.
Inside Drinking
Cigar City Brewing
Spend your day indoors at Cigar City Brewery. As one of the biggest names on the Tampa Bay brewery scene, Cigar City currently has a tasting room with two bars and offers a variety of small-batch brews that you can only get at the brewery.
Angry Chair Brewing
Spend your day sipping on hoppy pale ales, Berliner weisses, low ABV saison, and other easy-drinkers. With 92 beers on the menu, you are bound to fall in love with something.
Brew Bus USA
For a unique Brewing experience head out with Brew Bus. Think of this as a school bus that stops at bars, and also serves beer. Brew Bus offers many different routes - we’d recommend the local loop which stops at 12 bars.
Rum Tour
Gaspar’s Rum Company is located in Ybor city and uses the oldest rum recipe from Pirate Jose Gaspar. The distillery just opened its doors in 2018. They specialize in Pirate Rum and you’ll even be shown around the place by a Pirate!
Indoor Activities
Tampa Theatre
The Tampa Theatre is a historic landmark. Spend your rainy day sampling a wide range of independent, foreign, and documentary films. Stop by the theatre to see who’s in town and might be playing live.
Rock climbing
The Vertical Ventures Rock Climbing Gym gets you off the ground and across man-made rock walls. Difficulty ranges from walls tilting slightly inward for beginners to completely upside-down challenges. It's not just a place for kids — everyone in the family is welcome to climb.
See a Psychic
If you see a rainy day in the forecast, make an appointment with Shane. Seeing a psychic is the perfect way to fill up your morning. They're not for everyone, but if you’re into it, we’ve only heard great things about Shane.
Florida Aquarium
At the Florida Aquarium kids will be fascinated by sea creatures of all kinds, from baby alligators to playful otters, to scary sharks. There are several touch tanks for children who love to get up close and personal.
iFly Tampa
If the weather isn’t great check out iFly, an indoor skydiving facility. You can expect to be there for about an hour but the activity only takes about 50-60 seconds. If you’re a little nervous, don’t be...anyone can do it! The oldest person to indoor skydive is an adventurous 103 year old lady from Florida.
