Wondering what the best time to visit Tucson is? Let’s take a look at each season and what it has to offer visitors so your next vacation is full of fun and relaxation.
Spring
Late March and into June marks the height of Tucson’s appeal for visitors. With a multitude of activities to choose from in near-perfect weather, Tucson is in full swing! Enjoy scenic hikes full of blooming wildflowers, clear skies, and moderate temperatures that are ripe for exploration of Tucson’s natural wonders.
Nightlife is also a significant draw, so be sure to hit up Tucson’s many unique bars and restaurants. Wondering where to start?

Fall
Fall temperatures still have a bit of the intense summer heat that only tapers off by mid-September, but there’s plenty to do before winter approaches. Enjoy the Tucson Village Farm Harvest Festival, a dream for foodies with fun activities for all ages. Movie buffs will enjoy Film Fest Tucson, a relatively new festival that has gathered some of the biggest names in Hollywood as well as emerging independent artists from around the world.
Winter
Experience large temperature drops during Tucson’s winter months, where a 70° day can drop to just above freezing. Despite the lack of snow in Tucson, the winter holidays season can bring in great events like the Fourth Avenue Winter Street Fair, a 3-day event in December that features local artists and performances that draws over 600,000 visitors annually.
Be forewarned that ”snowbirds”, or those who create their residence in the favorable climate of Tucson’s winter, may drive up hotel prices, crowd restaurants, and create more traffic.
Summer
Summers in Tucson are only for those who know what they’re getting themselves into. Because of its southern location, Tucson experiences high desert temperatures that can present health risks – or just make for an uncomfortable experience. Sunblock is a must and indoor activities can be a great way to maximize your visit, including:

Nightlife, however, is a redeeming feature of the hot temperatures. Temperatures when the sun goes down still retain the heat from the day, so there’s a nice atmosphere without worrying about the sun.
